How to Find Tyre Size?

Simply look at the tyre diagram. The numbers will follow the same format as ones on your currently fitted tyres.

  • BLUE (165) is the tyre width
  • GREEN (65) is the tyre profile
  • RED (R14) is the diameter or rim size
  • ORANGE (79T) is the speed and load rating

Important Note: Getting these numbers right is important for the safety of your car. Therefore, if you have any doubts, call your nearest tyre fitting garage and we will be happy to help.

Increase the Lifetime of Your Tyres.

Life of Tyre
You might be thinking, is this even possible and the answer is Yes it is possible. How?
  • Maintain them by checking the tyre pressure on a regular basis
  • Keep the tyres in a good state by regularly cleaning them
  • Apply protected sprays to protect the rubber from dust and debris
  • Drive slowly especially on the surfaces where there are speed bumps and potholes
  • Most importantly, please make sure your tyre tread is always above the legal limit

If you are not sure about the tyre pressure or thickness of your tyre thread and need some help, then drive into one of Tyre Bay Branch and one of our staff will be able to help you with this for FREE, yes you have heard it right…it is free to get your tyres checked at any of our Tyre Garages.

Importance of Wheel Balancing.

Wheel Balancing

Balancing helps

  • Prevent premature wear of car tyres
  • Reduce/eliminate vibration
  • Protects suspension, steering and bearing of the vehicle

At Tyre Bay we perform free balancing with every tyre fitting. You don’t have to ask for this as we do this by default.

How do you know if the balancing is not right?

If one area of your vehicle seems heavier or lighter than the rest, then your vehicle is in need of balancing.

Wheel Alignment.

If your car is swerving or not travelling in the straight line then your car wheel alignment is not correct. This usually happens due to the car wheels coming into contact with solid objects such as kerb or pothole. It is dangerous to drive your car if the car wheels aren’t straight, you should contact your nearest garage to get this sorted asap. It is important that your car alignment is correct because the correct alignment will ensure that…
  • Your car has the best grip on the road
  • Protect your wheels from irregular wear
  • Reduce your fuel cost due to less friction
